Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Trailer Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of trailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring trailers are safe, reliable, and road-ready while completing repairs efficiently and in accordance with company safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trailers and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air brake, suspension, and lighting systems.
- Inspect trailers for safety concerns and identify required repairs or maintenance.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing on trailers.
- Repair and replace trailer components, including brakes, axles, suspension components, doors, lights, tires, and other parts as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair air brake and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable workplace safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate maintenance concerns and repair requirements to management.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Trailer Mechanic.
- Previous experience in a trucking, transportation, or fleet maintenance environment is preferred.
- Robust knowledge of trailer mechanical systems and components.
- Experience with air brake systems, suspension systems, electrical systems, and trailer repairs.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and working in various positions.
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
