The Prospect An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Translator/Reviser to join a communications-focused team supporting both internal and external stakeholders. This role is ideal for a seasoned translation professional who thrives in a highly collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering accurate, high-quality English-to-French translations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for translating and revising a variety of customer-facing and corporate communications materials while maintaining consistency, accuracy, branding standards, and regulatory requirements. In addition to translation expertise, the role requires strong technical capabilities to support content production across multiple digital and print platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate English-to-French translation of corporate and customer-facing communications materials.
- Manage the end-to-end translation and quality assurance process to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Produce and maintain French-language content across multiple formats including websites, publications, digital communications, and scripts.
- Ensure French content accurately reflects source material while adhering to brand standards and style guidelines.
- Develop, maintain, and update corporate terminology resources, glossaries, and translation memory systems.
- Research complex terminology and validate meaning with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Monitor translation volumes, priorities, and workflows to proactively anticipate future resource requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external language professionals to clarify technical or sensitive content.
- Resolve day-to-day translation, workflow, and terminology issues.
- Create and maintain terminology equivalents aligned with industry standards and organizational requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to translation quality, processes, and documentation standards.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience translating and revising complex business, technical, and customer-facing communications.
- Exceptional written communication skills in both English and French.
- Strong proofreading, editing, grammar, and punctuation expertise.
- Experience managing translation projects from intake through final delivery.
- Ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in Translation from an accredited institution.
- Minimum seven years of progressive experience in a professional translation role.
- Experience working with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and translation memory technology.
- Technical proficiency with content production platforms such as InDesign, SharePoint, HTML/CSS, LiveCycle, or similar systems.
- Knowledge of agricultural, insurance, regulatory, or public sector terminology is considered an asset.
- Membership with a recognized professional translation association is considered an asset.
- Ability to achieve a superior rating on a language proficiency evaluation.
