Progistix’s operations are located in major cities across the country, giving our clients efficient and effective access to the Canadian marketplace. We operate out of various provinces such as ON, MB, QC, NS and NFLD, with our Toronto facility being the largest.
Reporting to the Manager, Transportation and Customs, this role will be primarily responsible for the support of all Transportation management support for the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resolve transportation issues in a timely manner and escalate when required
- Coordinate the dispatching of shipments (both inbound & outbound)
- Maximize productivity by effectively allocating available resources to successfully process the daily work volume
- Effectively communicate with both internal parties & external carriers regarding shipments and utilizing the most cost-effective methods
- Comprehend and administer all relevant policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
- Hands on direction of all activities to ensure customer and corporate requirements are met
- Adhere to Progistix’s Quality Principles and Account specific Standard Operating Procedures
- Use of Truck Mate, SAP and other related systems is an asset
- Adhere to all Health & Safety practices and ensure employees are following all related policies and procedures
- Meet or exceed internal & external reporting requirements, work with operations and carriers to resolve issues
- Balance volume between routes to minimize left off ensuring maximum deliverability
- Ensure timely and accurate freight tendered as per Bell guidelines – ensure shipment details, carrier routings and appointment times are updated and communicated
- Coordinate and update inbound shipment information
- Lead daily carrier meetings to discuss shipping and delivery issues
- Ensure utilization of most cost-effective carriers to support Bell business needs
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Thorough knowledge and experience with third party logistics services and processes
- Experience working with TMW software, WMS & SAP systems
- Proficient with the use of a computer, including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
