Overview

Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients across a variety of clinical settings, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly and answering any questions to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
- Operate ultrasound equipment with precision, adjusting settings for optimal image quality based on the specific examination requirements.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to review images, provide preliminary findings, and assist in diagnosis.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in accordance with hospital policies and privacy regulations.
- Ensure all ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sanitized after each use to uphold safety standards.
- Stay current with technological advancements in ultrasound imaging through ongoing education and training opportunities.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a clinical setting.
- Certification from a recognized credentialing body such as the Canadian Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Canada.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to various ultrasound procedures.
- Strong technical skills in operating diverse ultrasound equipment and troubleshooting common issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
