Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist

Do you love animals, enjoy connecting with people, and like that no two days at work are ever quite the same? Blue Cross Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our awesome team!

We’re a busy, community-focused veterinary hospital that believes great medicine starts with a great team. We work hard, support each other, laugh when we can, and genuinely care about the pets and people who walk through our doors.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hybrid role, so you’ll get the best of both worlds- client service and hands-on patient care.

At the Front Desk

- Welcome clients and their furry family members with warmth and a smile
- Answer phones, book appointments, and keep communication flowing
- Keep medical records and client information accurate and up to date
- Process payments and invoices
- Help clients feel informed, supported, and cared for

In the Hospital
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations and procedures
- Safely restrain patients for treatments and diagnostics
- Prepare and clean exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces
- Administer medications and provide post-operative care under supervision
- Monitor hospitalized patients and make sure they’re comfortable and well cared for
- Basically, help keep the hospital and our patients happy and running smoothly!

You Might Be a Great Fit If You…




- Have previous veterinary clinic or animal care experience (preferred)
- Are comfortable speaking and writing in English
- Are organized and dependable
- Can stay calm when the hospital gets busy
- Communicate with kindness, patience, and professionalism
- Genuinely love animals and want to make a difference in their lives
- Are available for a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Can go from answering the phone to helping restrain a wiggly Labrador without missing a beat
