Install and connect electronic or non-electric initiation systems,

and tie in blast patterns

Establish blast exclusion zones and coordinate clearance with supervisors and other crews

Conduct pre-blast safety checks and initiate blasts under approved authorization

Complete post-blast inspections before personnel or equipment return to the area

Identify and safely manage suspected misfires to established procedure

Additional Information
Candidaties should not assume they are ineligible simply because their blasting experience or certification comes from another province. We are reviewing experienced blasters from Saskatchewan as well as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and other Canadian jurisdictions. Applicants who were previously screened out of this position for not holding a Saskatchewan mine blaster certificate are encouraged to submit a new application.

When applying, please clearly identify your years of blasting experience, the type of blasting performed, the provinces you have worked in, all blasting certificates and qualifications held, previous employer blasting authorizations, the explosives and initiation systems you have worked with, any PAL or NRCan approval documentation, current safety certifications, your location and your availability to start.
