Location This position is required to work in person at various sites across the city, Burlington Performing Arts Centre and Student Theatre Centre. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview The City of Burlington is accepting applications for a Specialized Program Instructor, RCC – Drama to support Fall/Winter/Spring Burlington Student Theatre programs for children and youth aged 4-17 years.
Reporting to the Artistic Supervisor, Program & Theatre Services, this role is ideal for a passionate drama educator and theatre practitioner who enjoys working with young performers in a collaborative, creative, and supportive environment.
This role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging drama-based instruction that develops participants' acting, improvisation, storytelling, character development, and performance skills. This role supports a variety of Burlington Student Theatre programs and productions, including mainstage shows at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.
Working collaboratively with artistic program staff, directors, and support staff, this role fosters a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment while helping participants build confidence, performance skills, creativity, and stage presence throughout the rehearsal and performance process.
