Matrix HR is recruiting experienced Concrete Carpenters / Formwork Carpenters on behalf of an established Commercial-Industrial Concrete Contractor for ongoing concrete projects throughout the Edmonton area .

This is hands-on construction work involving concrete formwork, structural concrete, flatwork, foundations, equipment pads, grade beams, and pre-pour preparation. The successful candidates will support commercial and industrial concrete projects by building, setting, bracing, stripping, and repairing concrete formwork while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and productivity.

This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta, with travel required to various client project sites throughout the Edmonton area.

Pay: $35.00–$42.00/hr based on relevant experience and project fit

What You Bring

Proven experience as a Concrete Carpenter, Formwork Carpenter, or similar construction role

Demonstrated hands-on experience building, setting, bracing, stripping, and repairing concrete formwork

Experience supporting structural and/or flatwork concrete construction

Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings, specifications, and field instructions

Ability to set forms accurately to required line, grade,



elevation, and alignment

Experience constructing and installing formwork for:

Foundations

Concrete slabs

Equipment pads

Grade beams

Walls

Other structural concrete applications

Experience completing pre-pour preparation activities and coordinating with other trades, including rebar and concrete placement teams

Ability to work safely and efficiently in an active construction environment

Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation

Ability to travel to various Edmonton-area project sites

Robust safety record, reliable attendance, and ability to work effectively as part of a crew

Ability to meet site-access requirements, including testing requirements where applicable

Assets

Journeyperson Carpenter certification

Experience working on industrial, energy, plant-site, civil, or heavy-commercial construction projects

Experience with engineered formwork systems such as Doka, Peri, Aluma, Duraform, or similar

Experience with structural foundations, equipment foundations, grade beams, elevated concrete, or complex formwork systems

CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance, or other current safety tickets
