This position is required to work in person at the Student Theatre Centre. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview
The City of Burlington is accepting applications for a Specialized Program Instructor – Musical Direction & Vocal Performance to support Fall/Winter/Spring Burlington Student Theatre programs for children aged 4-17 years.
Reporting to the Artistic Supervisor, Program & Theatre Services, this role is ideal for a passionate musical director and vocal instructor who enjoys working with young performers in a team-oriented, creative, and supportive setting.
This role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging music-based instruction that develops participants’ vocal technique, musicality, confidence, and ensemble performance skills. Working collaboratively with the Music Director (orchestra), this role supports the artistic vision of each production, including mainstage shows at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.
Working collaboratively with artistic program staff, directors, and support staff, this role fosters a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment while helping participants build confidence, performance skills, creativity, and stage presence throughout the rehearsal and performance process.
