The Automation Specialist is responsible to design, install, maintain, program and troubleshoot new and existing automated equipment throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities Set-up, maintain, program, trouble shoot and repair all automated equipment
Coordinate review of all assigned jobs with the Technical Supervisor, ME, and project Management
Configure and program all system software as required
Provide paperwork as required to document programming, wiring and work instructions
Coordinate and provide training for any new automation system
Be aware of all OSHA requirements that may pertain to assigned projects
Report/ rectify immediately any safety issues
Ensure the safety, reliability and effectiveness of all automated equipment
Trouble shoot electrical/electronic circuits on various types of equipment
Perform continuous improvement activities of all automation (i.e. Cycle Time / Down Time)
Design/build automated fixtures
Making the deadlines for any automation project staying late working weekends if required
Ensuring automation is reliable, effective and Protected
Complete routine paperwork as required
Knowledge & Skill Three (3) year diploma in Electro-Mechanical Technology
Good organizational skills
Minimum 5 years maintenance experience or equivalent
Knowledge of lock out procedures
Ability to drive forklift
Proficient in P.L.C., Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Low voltage electrical/electronics
Ability to read blueprints
Awareness of all safety policies and procedures
