Are you a growth-oriented, strategic thinker with a love for cats and dogs? New Collar Collective, a Toronto-based, 100% volunteer-run, non-profit animal rescue, is looking for a Director, Treasurer with accounting experience who would like to make a difference in the lives of animals in need.
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will have the prospect to contribute to the growth and sustainability of this charity, making a profound impact on the lives of our animals and our community. This is a working Board Member position.

Compensation

Time commitment is approximately 3 to 5 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings
- Oversee and ensure monthly settlement, bookkeeping and reconciliation of all transactions on a timely basis.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets,
and reports for the Board, government, and operations as required.
- Complete government tax filings and liaise with external accountants as needed.
- Develop and implement fiscal policies and procedures.
- Support organizational strategy and financial sustainability.
- Collaborate with Team Leads and other operational volunteers as needed.
- Chair the Finance Committee and participate in other committees.
- Support the organization’s mission by performing other tasks as needed, and participating in fundraising initiatives.
Requirements:
- Professional experience in accounting; designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant an asset.
- Experience with specific charity and not-for-profit accounting and regulations are an asset.
- Experience with Quickbooks Online is required.
