Bearspaw Lodge seeks a dedicated Youth Support Worker to provide essential care for male youth dealing with complex mental health issues in St. Albert, Alberta. Engage in direct support and trauma-informed practices to facilitate youth stability and accountability.
In this part-time role, you will be actively involved in helping youth navigate their challenges, from mental health disorders to substance abuse. Your expertise in de-escalation and collaboration with medical and judicial systems is vital. Help ensure that youth develop positive coping strategies while respecting their cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver trauma-informed supervision and care
• Craft and implement tailored support and behavioral strategies
• Assist with personal care and meal preparations
• Recognize and operate under high-stress situations
• Advocate for youth’s access to community resources
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in youth facilities
• Experience in mental health and addiction interventions
• Understanding of Indigenous history and cultures
• Required certifications in first aid and transparent criminal background
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and personal vehicle
