Support victims of crime as a Victim Services Navigator with the Justice Supports and Services Division in Pictou, NS. Play a vital role in guiding victims through the justice system.
In this full time position, you'll be responsible for administering the Provincial Victim Services Program, which includes providing essential information and support to victims. You'll work directly with clients, preparing them for court appearances and assisting in their emotional needs through various supportive measures. Interaction with law enforcement and community partners is key to ensuring victims' rights are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide information and support to crime victims
• Assist with court preparation and accompaniment
• Facilitate access to counseling services
• Maintain confidentiality of client information
• Develop community relationships and service coordination
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Minimum three years of related experience
• Knowledge of victim rights and criminal law
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive situations empathetically
