Cenovus is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst for its Oil Sands Capital Accounting team in Calgary. Excel in recording, analyzing, and reporting capital expenditures for oil sands assets.

In this role, you will contribute significantly to financial reporting and support the accurate assessment of capital spend. Your responsibilities include preparing monthly accruals, performing detailed variance analysis, and collaborating with various teams to manage project costs effectively. You will engage with tax and audit teams and assist in preparing comprehensive financial reports that inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze monthly capital accruals for assigned properties
• Collaborate on cost estimating using accrual tools




• Perform cost and variance analysis with explicit explanations
• Support setup of WBS elements and AFEs
• Participate in quarterly financial statement reviews

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years in oil and gas finance
• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• CPA designation preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Highly organized to manage competing priorities
