As the Health Lead, you will play a crucial role in enhancing health outcomes for Lnu’k populations. The position highlights the importance of building trust with community members and implementing research that incorporates Indigenous health knowledge. By engaging with local Elders, you will foster Mi’kmaw leadership in health matters and promote the recruitment of Mi’kmaw students in professional health training.
Key Responsibilities:
• Consult with Elders and community members for insights
• Implement health activities and research projects
• Strengthen health promotion through community capacity building
• Collaborate with MINES on health education
• Report annually on progress of health initiatives
Requirements:
• L’nu descent with community connections
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in health-related field
• Proven expertise in health and cultural knowledge
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Links to health research networks or communities of practice
