Warehouse Manager

Reports To: Director of Operations

Work Schedule: 7.00 am- 3.00 pm

Position Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for efficient day to day operation of the warehouse and for supervising warehouse employees, drivers and shipping /receiving activities.

The primary focus of this role is execution rather than strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Warehouse Operations

- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Manage the receiving, storage, and shipping of products in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure all customer orders are accurately prepared and shipped on time.
- Assist with loading delivery vehicles during peak periods when required.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate garbage disposal and waste removal services.
- Allocate daily warehouse labour.
- Ensure proper product storage & rotation.
- Conduct daily facility inspections and coordinate required maintenance and repairs.

Inventory Management

- Execute weekly cycle counts.
- Monitor inventory levels and warehouse organization to maximize storage efficiency.
- Investigate operational inventory issues.
- Assist with Annual Inventory Counts.
- Implement strategies to minimize inventory variances and improve inventory accuracy.
- Report discrepancies to the Director of Operations.

Staff Supervision:

- Supervise warehouse employees.
- Prepare daily work assignments
- Train new Warehouse Staff
- Monitor attendance & Productivity
- Monitor warehouse and driver performance on a monthly basis and provide management with performance reports.
- Develop initiatives to improve productivity while reducing unnecessary overtime.

Fleet Support:

- Oversee the company's vehicle fleet,



including maintenance scheduling and repairs.
- Schedule delivery drivers and assign daily delivery routes.
- Coordinate and schedule lumpers for container arrivals.
- Monitor driver performance and fleet activities using Samsara and Track-POD.
- Ensure equipment inspections are completed.
- Coordinate emergency and after-hours receipt of fresh and frozen shipments, including airport pickups, customs brokers, and logistics partners.

Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Verify that all employees are properly trained and consistently use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) inspectors during inspections and product sampling.
- Support Health Inspectors during site visits and ensure timely completion of any required corrective actions.
- Report incidents immediately.
- Be a part of Joint health & safety committee & ensure safe operations.
- Ensure docks & freezer areas remain organized.
- Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment at all times.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, efficiency, and workflow.
- Recommend operational improvements to Director of Operations & Management.
- Develop and streamline warehouse procedures to enhance productivity and service levels.




- Support initiatives that improve planning, preparation, and operational consistency.

Additional Responsibilities

- Remain available to respond to operational emergencies when required in person.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, logistics teams regarding incoming shipments.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Skills

- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Proven experience managing warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and distribution activities.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office,
- Proficiency with warehouse management software and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered an asset.
- Experience using Samsara and Track-POD or similar fleet management systems is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to operational priorities and emergencies.
- Experience managing labour costs, operational budgets, productivity targets, and warehouse resources.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
