• Environment - West team, you will play a critical role in shaping project outcomes, advising clients, mentoring engineers, and contributing to the continued growth of WSP's mining water practice. This opportunity is suited to highly experienced water resources professionals , with the final scope and title aligned to your experience, technical authority, leadership influence, and market impact. Flexible across Alberta and British Columbia . #Lead complex mine water and surface water projects from conceptual planning through detailed design and construction support Develop and review site-wide mine water management strategies, including water balances and climate resilience considerations Deliver hydrologic and hydraulic assessments supporting mine operations, infrastructure, and closure planning Design and oversee surface water conveyance and control infrastructure such as channels, culverts, diversions, spillways, and ponds Integrate mine infrastructure, tailings, and water management systems into cohesive, defensible solutions Provide senior technical oversight and serve as a Qualified Professional (QP) where applicable Mentor engineers and strengthen technical standards, best practices, and safety culture across the team Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline registration in at least one Canadian province (multi-province registration is an asset) Typically 12+ years of consulting experience in water resources engineering,



with strong mining exposure Demonstrated leadership on complex, multidisciplinary mine water and surface water projects Advanced expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, mine water management, and surface water infrastructure design Experience engaging directly with mining clients and regulators as a senior technical advisor Strong technical judgement, mentoring capability, and collaborative leadership mindset We exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
