Job Title: QA Specialist
Location: Pickering, ON
Work Hours:10AM to 6PM, Monday to Friday (with potential to change to 2PM to 10PM in the future)
Compensation Range: $50,000 to $60,000 annually, based on experience
About the role:
The QA Specialist is responsible for working with Production and Quality teams to ensure conformance to SOP’s and quality in production.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and roll-out of document management tools, monitors documentation/Quality Systems function, and coordinate with IT on issues
Maintain master documents and records (both hardcopy and/or electronic) to ensure documentation is retrievable and files are accurate, complete, and well organized
Manage the document periodic review process
Coordinate training of employees on new or revised SOPs
Issuance of Batch processing records for production team
Develop deviation reports, change controls, SOPs, specifications, and any quality related records
Develop and perform protocols, report or any technical documents related to Quality department
Tracks calibration / PM schedule for multiple equipment, coordinate calibration of scales.
Reviews activity logbooks, batch records ensure good documentation practices are enforced.
Provides support to Quality Assurance Person and other team members as required.
Job Requirements:
A university degree (B.Sc.) in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy or Food.
Minimum one year of experience in a pharma, food, and/or cannabis industry.
Familiarity with GMP, GPP, GCP and/or any ISO quality management system is an asset.
Good Understanding of Cannabis regulations would be an asset.
Multitasking, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills and ability to function under pressure and within a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work both alone and in teams
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
Must be willing to undergo a background checkin accordance withlocal laws and regulations. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
