We are hiring a CNC Setup Operator to join our growing Manufacturing team in Grimsby! Successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar CNC Mill Setup or Operator role and solid attention to detail. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating a CNC Mill

Fanuc control experience preferred

General Machining knowledge as an asset

Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50lbs

Experience using measuring equipment including gauges, micrometres, verniers, etc.

Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team

Team-oriented and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others

Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment

Must have own tools and toolbox

Position Overview:

Report to Manufacturing Team Lead

Working alongside a Machinist/Programmer to run a 5-axis Matsuura mill with pallet-changer

Responsible for setup and operation of a CNC mill with Fanuc control





Accurately interpret blueprints and other technical drawings

Set up parts and tools

Measure parts

Perform inspections and quality checks on completed parts

Communicate with Team Lead and Manufacturing Admin to ensure proper quantity of tooling and materials

General cleaning of workspace and machine maintenance

Ensure the use of proper PPE

Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values

Other related duties as required

Shift Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour Day Shift; Employee must be on-site by 8:00am

½-hour Unpaid lunch from 12:30pm-1:00pm

Overtime paid after 40 hours
