The Role You’ll be responsible for keeping municipal water and wastewater treatment systems operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Ontario requirements.

Your day-to-day work will include:

- Operating and monitoring water and wastewater treatment equipment and processes
- Adjusting treatment processes based on plant conditions and test results
- Collecting samples, performing testing, and documenting operational data
- Monitoring system performance and identifying issues before they become larger problems
- Troubleshooting pumps, valves, mechanical equipment, and other plant systems
- Assisting with preventative maintenance and general plant upkeep
- Maintaining accurate records and operational logs




- Following applicable Ontario regulations, environmental requirements, and safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

Required:

- Active Water Treatment Level 1 certification or higher (Can be from any province besides Quebec)
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to relocate to and live in a remote Northern Ontario community
- Hands-on experience in water/wastewater treatment or a related operating environment

Strongly Preferred:

- Ontario Water Treatment Level 2 certification (or equivalent from other province)
- Both water treatment and wastewater certification
- Experience with pumps, valves, treatment processes, and SCADA/control systems
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment in the field
- Experience operating or maintaining municipal treatment systems

Work Environment This is an active, hands-on position rather than a desk job. You should be comfortable with:

- A 40-hour work week
- Rotating on-call responsibilities
- Occasional weekend and holiday coverage
- Working both indoors and outdoors
- Working in varying weather conditions
- Frequent walking and standing throughout the day
- Lifting up to 55 lbs (25 kg)
- Ladder use and, when required, confined-space entry
