SMI Automation (Canada) Inc. is seeking experienced welder to start as soon as possible. We have openings on afternoons and day shift. SMI Automation (Canada) Inc. typically operates on rotating shifts of days and afternoons. Our facility is located in Windsor, Ontario. This role is in Windsor Ontario.

The Welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components using a variety of welding techniques. This role requires robust technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. The Welder ensures all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- Knowledge of welding techniques, including gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), and multi-pass welding




- Able to stand for extended periods work within a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met
- A minimum of 3 years’ Welding experience
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to safely follow work instructions, drawings, and safety procedures
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
- Current welding certification
- Shop environment with exposure to noise, sparks, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety legislation and company safety procedures.
- Follow all quality control processes and documentation requirements.
