Welder

Newfoundland HVAC is seeking an experienced Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will work primarily in a sheet metal shop environment, completing welding and fabrication of welded ductwork, fittings, equipment supports, stands, and miscellaneous metal components for commercial and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and other materials as required

Fabrication and welding of stainless steel ductwork, fittings, transitions, plenums, hoods, and custom sheet metal components

Fabrication and welding of equipment stands, supports, brackets, frames, curbs, and miscellaneous metals

Read and interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, sketches, dimensions, and construction details

Measure, lay out, cut, fit, tack, weld, and finish fabricated components

Complete cleaning and finishing of welds to an acceptable standard

Check completed work for dimensions, fit, finish, and overall quality

Assist with material handling and general shop fabrication as required





Maintain an organized and safe work area

Follow company safety procedures and applicable occupational health and safety requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous TIG and MIG welding experience required

Sheet metal, HVAC, mechanical, or industrial fabrication experience considered a solid asset

Comfortable using standard welding and metal fabrication equipment

Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team

Ability to safely lift and handle materials associated with shop fabrication

Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a productive work pace

Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation required

Pay: $21.00-$36.00 per hour
