Status: Part-Time, Permanent.
Shifts: 24 hours/week, Monday – Sunday, mostly day shifts. Must be available for a rotation of Saturday and Sunday shifts.

What you’ll do:
The Produce Clerk is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department. Duties include opening the department in the morning, ordering, receiving, and stocking fresh fruits and vegetables, assisting with value-added prep, such as washing, cutting, and packaging fresh produce items (e.g. fruit and vegetable trays), ensuring product quality, freshness, and proper rotation, maintaining a clean and organized work area following food safety standards.
The Produce Clerk will live the Co-op Brand and strive to achieve and maintain positive and healthy relationships with co-workers and customers.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Living the Brand The Produce Clerk will consistently represent and uphold the Co‑op brand by demonstrating Gardenland Co‑op’s vision, mission, and values in all interactions.
You will act as a Co‑op ambassador with a strong understanding of the Cooperative Retailing System and the cooperative business model, striving to build and maintain positive, healthy relationships with both co‑workers and customers.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and creating positive interactions.
Communicates clearly and respectfully with both customers and coworkers.

Work Duties & Requirements:
Committed to service excellence and quality food preparation.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable handling food and using knives as part of daily duties.
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-secure work area in compliance with food safety standards.
Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries.
Possess robust communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., as well as repetitive motions as part of daily responsibilities.
Qualifications

Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
