Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Assistant (OT/PTA) Position: Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Assistant (OT/PTA)

location: Red Deer, Alberta
Pay: CA$24.39-$30.00 per hour
Aspire Child Development Centre (Aspire) is seeking an Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Assistant who is passionate about supporting neurodivergent children and values collaboration, flexibility, and growth. In this role, you will work alongside occupational therapists and physical therapists to support neurodivergent children through fine motor, gross motor, sensory, and functional interventions delivered in school and community settings across Central Alberta. About the Role
You will be supporting occupational therapists and physical therapists in work with children aged 2-18 years. You will also provide back-up administrative support to the School and Family Services Program. This position offers variety, autonomy, and clinical support.
Your Role at Aspire
Support occupational and physical therapists in delivering assessment follow-up, consultation, and intervention services
Build capacity with parents, teachers, and school staff
Support children, schools, and families in developing skills and better understanding motor skills, sensory regulation, interoceptive awareness, activities of daily living, and play, in school,



and community settings
Provide administrative support to therapists
Assist in the development of resources and training tools for school teams and parents
Support the implementation of practical, strength-based strategies to promote child development
Administer screening tools for interpretation by therapists
Collaborate with families and educational teams to support identified goals
Provide back-up administrative support to the School and Families Services Program
Your Strengths and Experience
Experience working with children in the areas of motor skills, sensory regulation, interoception, activities of daily living, and play skill development is an asset
Knowledge of best practices and current research, particularly related to autism and neurodivergent children
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and adaptable in a energetic workload
Willingness to contribute to the growth of the team
Excellent knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office 365 and database applications
Qualifications
Occupational and physical therapist assistant diploma




Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
Experience working withneurodivergent children (experience level flexible - mentorship available)
Schedule and Work Environment
Permanent part-time, with opportunity to grow into full-time
Flexible Monday to Friday schedule
Christmas break and spring break off
Reduced summer hours, with ongoing regular pay
Aspire operates 8:30-4:30, Monday to Friday
Aspire is in Red Deer, Alberta and is nicely situated between Calgary and Edmonton - offering the benefits of a smaller city with easy access to major centres.
