Position Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Dev
Ops Consultant to support a comprehensive Azure Dev
Ops Organization migration for a major energy-sector client.
This is a high-impact, approximately 33-week engagement focused on migrating and validating approximately 75 projects, 55,000+ work items, 70 repositories, 2,000+ shared queries, 400+ dashboards, and 40 classic release pipelines from one Azure Dev
Ops organization to another.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in executing migration waves, managing technical implementation activities, performing validation and troubleshooting, and supporting post-cutover stabilization.
Responsibilities: Execute migration of approximately 75 Azure Dev
Ops projects across 5 controlled waves using nkd
Agility tooling and Git CLI in accordance with the approved migration design.
Perform detailed project intake activities for each migration wave, including work item validation, repository assessment, and pipeline inventory.
Execute migration of 55,000+ work items, 70 repositories, 2,000+ shared queries, and 400+ dashboards , ensuring maximum fidelity and integrity.
Convert approximately 40 classic release pipelines to YAML multi-stage pipelines and validate successful execution within the destination organization.
Provision and configure service connections, variable groups, and branch policies across migrated projects.
Implement Entra ID security group assignments and validate organization-level security policies against the approved design.
Execute the pilot migration / Wave 0 to validate custom field fidelity, state mapping, link integrity, and historical data preservation.
Perform source organization cleanup activities in accordance with the approved project disposition worksheet and repository rationalization plan.
Lead testing and validation activities aligned with the client''s Testing Centre of Excellence (TCoE) standards and defined exit criteria.
Coordinate RAB/CAB activities and change-window scheduling for migration cutovers.
Perform post-cutover validation, troubleshooting, and stabilization activities to identify and resolve migration defects.
Execute decommissioning activities, including read-only conversion, integration redirection, and archival procedures.
Maintain detailed migration documentation, testing records, issue tracking, and project-owner sign-off documentation in accordance with PDM requirements.
Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Dev
Ops .
Experience executing or supporting Azure Dev
Ops organization migrations .
Solid understanding of Azure Dev
Ops Projects, Work Items, Repositories, Queries, Dashboards, Pipelines, Service Connections, Variable Groups, and Branch Policies.
Experience with Azure Dev
Ops YAML multi-stage pipelines and migration/conversion from Classic Release Pipelines.
Experience using Git CLI and Azure Dev
Ops migration tooling.
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID security groups and access management.
Strong understanding of Dev
Ops security, permissions, and organization-level policies.
Experience performing migration testing, validation, troubleshooting, and post-cutover stabilization.
Ability to work through large-scale migration activities involving multiple projects and significant volumes of data.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Experience working within formal change-management processes, including CAB/RAB coordination and controlled migration windows .
Ability to work independently and manage technical deliverables across multiple migration waves.
