Technician - Production (Trains)

Contract Duration: 12 months and potential for extension Location: North London Shift pattern: Nights Pay Rates: PAYE: £19.52 per hour (standard + 15% shift) and an additional bonus of £333.33 per month paid from your third month as a monthly lump sum payment for the London Weighting Allowance. Umbrella: £24.90 per hour (Standard + 15% Shift), also an additional bonus of £333.33 per month paid from your third month as a monthly lump sum payment for the London Weighting Allowance. Once training is passed, pay rates will increase to PAYE £22.07 per hour (Standard + 30% Shift) and Umbrella £28.15 per hour (Standard + 30% Shift) Role Overview: Undertake routine maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan Carry out download diagnosis and fault-finding to a basic level Assist other team members with the development of technical skills Depot driving - Movement of allocated rolling stock within the depot limits Identify,



order and collect spares and materials from stores Assist with cleaning of rolling stock when required Actively identify continuous improvement opportunities within own activities that will benefit customers and the business Actively participate in sharing best practice with colleagues and other teams on own site and other sites Principal Accountabilities

Working as part of the Engineering team, this role involves mechanical repairs. Supporting with the completion of repairs, modifications and production within a well‑equipped rolling stock depot Knowledge & Experience

Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering or process setting Experience of basic fault finding Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures Ability to understand and care for tools, equipment and PPE Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Ability to use a computer Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications Ability to produce detailed complex, analytical technical reports All PPE provided and Health and Safety explained before and on site.
