As a Labour Relations Officer at the BC Nurses' Union, you will oversee the enforcement of collective agreements and facilitate the resolution of member grievances. You will participate in supporting educational programs and fostering workplace campaigns that emphasize the economic and social welfare of our union members. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of labor relations, backed by comprehensive experience in grievance processing and a commitment to public health advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce collective agreements for designated bargaining units
• Advise on labor legislation and union policies
• Handle grievances and present cases at hearings
• Lead campaigns promoting members' workplace interests
• Participate in preparing for provincial agreement negotiations
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of progressive labor relations experience
• Proven ability to interpret and argue collective agreements
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills
• Relevant educational background in Industrial Relations or Nursing
• Willingness to travel for work-related duties
