The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 / hour.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse for CCU, ICU, Cardiac Stepdown, High Acuity, CSICU to join our Intensive Care Unit team at Surrey Memorial Hospital located in Surrey, B.C.

Detailed Overview
In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in an acute medical unit.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect information from a variety of sources using observation, communication, data review and physical assessment, make nursing diagnoses, and plan, perform and evaluate nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with patients, families and caregivers to develop and implement care plans, fostering therapeutic relationships and advocating for patient rights.
- Participate in admission and discharge planning, ensuring care plans are established, updated and communicated with the interprofessional team.
- Coordinate nursing care, set priorities, delegate tasks to support staff and make referrals to the interprofessional care team as required.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance, and assess learning needs to support self‑care.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, outcomes and referrals according to practice standards.
- Participate in nursing committees, care conferences, research and quality improvement activities,
and educational programs.
- Act as a preceptor or mentor to new nursing staff and students.
- Provide feedback to the Manager regarding the effectiveness of patient care programs, policies and equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Completion of applicable postgraduate coursework, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff and the interprofessional care team.

- Integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively.
- Teach and instruct patients and families on health‑care topics.
- Organize and prioritize work.
- Collaborate and promote cooperation among team members.
- Use factual information, prior learning and evidence‑based practices to guide nursing decisions.
- Operate related equipment and relevant computer applications.
- Maintain the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
