The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Training Program is a 6‑month sponsored training that provides the skills needed to support clients in the community.
Program Details
- Five (5) weeks of paid PSW training at $19.05 per hour, Monday to Friday 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Participants who complete the first five weeks are paid to work part‑time in the community while continuing education.
- Continued training includes 4 months of virtual learning, 3 weeks of in‑person skills lab, and required placements.
- Training covers personal care activities, household management, and general support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care and daily living activities.
- Support household management tasks as needed.
- Provide general supportive care in community settings.
- Participate in required training and placement rotations.
Requirements
- Ability to travel and attend meetings to support patient needs.
- Valid G or G2 driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certificate on Day 1.
- Proof of updated immunizations (MMR, Varicella/Zoster, HepB, Tetanus) and a negative tuberculosis test within the last 6 months.
- Clear police check and vulnerable sector check (upon job offer).
