Reporting to the Advisor, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant Co-op will have the opportunity to develop practical experience across a variety of Human Resources functions, with a focus on HR operations, reporting, projects, employee data management, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader by adhering to and supporting company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Assist with the administration and application of Human Resources policies, programs, and procedures.
- Maintain employee records and update information in HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Support benefits administration activities, including invoice reconciliation, reporting, employee communications, and related administrative tasks.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute HR reports, metrics, and workforce data to support business decisions and compliance requirements.
- Assist with HR audits, data validation exercises, and compliance-related initiatives.
- Draft employee letters, presentations, communications, and other HR documentation.
- Conduct research, compile findings, and assist with the development of recommendations and process improvements.
- Support HR projects and initiatives related to employee experience, policy updates, systems, and operational effectiveness.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, or related degree with a concentration in Human Resources (preference may be given to students in their third or fourth year of study).
- Strong interest in Human Resources operations, employee services, data management, and process improvement.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adaptable, flexible, and eager to learn new systems, processes, and concepts.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with data and generate reports.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of integrity.
- Demonstrated initiative and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Previous co‑op or administrative experience is considered an asset.
- Spanish language skills are considered an asset.

Pay Range: CAD $4,108 - $5,183
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
