We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) to provide emergency and primary care services within a remote community clinic. This unique position offers the opportunity to practice to your full scope in collaboration with physicians, nurses, first responders, security personnel, RCMP, and other healthcare professionals while making a meaningful impact in the community. This is more than a traditional paramedic role—it combines emergency response, clinic operations, patient care, and community healthcare in a agile team environment. Schedule
7 days on / 7 days off rotation 12-hour shifts
Day Shift: 0830 – 2030 Night Shift: 2030 – 0830
On-call after regular clinic hours Overtime opportunities available Responsibilities
Provide emergency pre-hospital and clinical patient care within the Chateh Health Centre. Collaborate with First Responders, Security Staff, RCMP, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Respond to medical emergencies within the clinic and community, including home visits when required. Arrange patient transportation via ambulance or medical taxi. Assist physicians during clinic days by:
Recording vital signs Preparing patients for assessment Documenting patient information Supporting patient flow
Facilitate the pickup of prescribed medications as per Chateh Health Centre policies.
Assist community members in accessing Community Care programs and services. Answer clinic phone calls after hours during periods of high call volume. Ensure emergency room, treatment rooms, and physician offices remain fully stocked and operational. Complete weekly inventory checks of:
Trauma room Crash cart Emergency response kits Emergency vehicle Pharmacy Medical supply room
Maintain medical equipment and ensure readiness for emergency response. Follow all AHSEMS, AES, organizational policies, clinical guidelines, and scope of practice requirements. Qualifications Required
Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP) as an Primary Care Paramedic (PCP). Valid Class 4 Alberta Driver's Licence. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote healthcare setting. Preferred
Experience in remote, rural, industrial, or community healthcare. Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. What We Offer
