Partner with Franchisees and Store Manager on employee relations matters including performance management, compensation, employee engagement and employee relations
Execute business unit visits (changeover and engagement) working collaboratively with business unit to assess engagement and advise on HR Best Practices
Conduct discrimination and harassment investigations, providing recommendations and documentation to the business unit
Partner with the Manager/Owner on CNESST claims and any litigation and act as a trusted advisor on these matters
Where required inform the business unit on labour and employee relations issues to mitigate risk
Conduct HR leadership training for business unit on Giant Tiger Talent Development Programs
Provide Best advice on Modified work, return to work process and health and safety matters
Act as a conduit between the Manager/Owner and the Centres of Excellence to provide appropriate support
Complete administrative activities for the business unit and reinforce the self-service model
Requirements
Bilingualism English and French is required (expert level, conversational French skills)
Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a HR partner/advisor role
Skilled in developing positive working relationships with business leaders
3+ years experience coaching and advising managers
Excellent attention to detail with written work
Proven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way with internal business units
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulations
Relevant experience in conducting ER investigations, including Harassment investigations and supporting MOL & Human Rights claims
The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel as required to support business needs.
