Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. The successful candidate should aspire to provide academic excellence in the learning environment, thus enabling our students to achieve success in their careers. This includes designing, revising and updating courses/curriculum; teaching assigned courses; consulting with stakeholders (faculty, community and industry partners); defining course objectives and evaluating student comprehension of objectives; utilize a variety of instruction medium /resources; and provide individualized instruction where necessary. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Required qualifications:

Certificate of Qualification – 456A Welder, 308A Metal Fitter Fabricator, or 433A Industrial Millwright Mechanic Minimum of five years of practical experience with welding functions Demonstrated competency in curriculum design, delivery and evaluation at the post secondary level is preferred Experience teaching or training adults would be considered an asset Excellent written and communication skills Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills Proficient with standard computer software applications Solid commitment to health and safety,



with knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety legislation and safe work practices Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, industry and community partners Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and support diverse learners In accordance with the provisions of the Academic Employees Collective Agreement first consideration shall be given to Internal employees. Internal employees are classified as Full time permanent or Partial Load staff within the Academic Bargaining Unit at the time of posting.
