THE ROLE: As a
Cycle Counter , you will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and minimizing shrinkage within a large, clean food distribution facility in
Peterborough, ON .
You will be responsible for conducting accurate cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, supporting inventory control processes, and helping identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy. ADVANTAGES:
$20.00–$23.00/hr, depending on experience
Day shift:
10:00 AM–2:00 PM, Monday to Friday
1-month temporary assignment

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct thorough and accurate cycle counts of inventory, including pick and reserve slots
Count inventory using an RF scanner and manually verify product quantities
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including out-of-balance items and product condition issues
Research root causes of inventory variances, including receiving errors, put-away errors, and product damage
Monitor inventory levels and identify potential issues
Ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions
Support inventory control procedures and best practices
Perform quality checks on date-sensitive, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory
Monitor FIFO rotation and address any issues
Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Generate reports on inventory performance and discrepancies
Process inventory transfers and other inventory adjustments as required
Support the product recall process
Perform general warehouse duties and other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
Previous cycle counting experience required
2+ years of relevant inventory/warehouse experience preferred
Previous RF scanner experience
High school diploma or GED
Basic data analysis skills with the ability to interpret information and identify trends
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
Great team attitude and willingness to help
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the role
Must be comfortable working in a freezer environment of up to
-18°C
Must be comfortable lifting up to
50 lbs repeatedly
Must have a transparent criminal record
Must work safely and follow all company policies, procedures, and work practices
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and operate computer equipment
Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and communicate by phone
Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
Occasionally required to lift and/or move 41–50 lbs
May occasionally be required to lift heavier items up to 100 lbs
Requires close and distance vision and the ability to accurately identify and count inventory
