Our Health & Safety Team Coordinator plays a key role in helping ensure our employees have the tools, knowledge, and support they need to work safely while delivering exceptional services.

Role Summary As the Health & Safety Team Coordinator, you will support the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous improvement of ICE’s health and safety program across multiple regions. Working closely with managers, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and employees, you will help identify risks, promote safe work practices, and ensure compliance with legislation and organizational standards.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing field work, problem-solving, education, and continuous improvement while making a meaningful impact on employee well-being and organizational excellence.

What You’ll Do

Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture throughout the organization

Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of ICE’s health and safety program

Monitor compliance with organizational policies, legislation, and best practices

Coordinate workplace injury reporting, WCB claim management, and modified work programs

Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations

Support risk identification, mitigation, and ongoing evaluation across programs

Participate in internal and external health and safety audits, including COR initiatives

Support Joint Health & Safety Committees across all regions





Analyze health and safety data and identify trends to support continuous improvement

Coordinate health and safety resources, supplies, and educational materials

Support the maintenance of secure office environments and agency facilities

Perform other related duties as required

What You Bring

Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline

Health & Safety certifications or professional designations are considered an asset

Experience working in Occupational Health & Safety, risk management, or workplace safety

Experience with WCB claims management, incident investigations, and hazard assessments

Knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation

Experience participating in COR audits or other safety management systems is considered an asset

Experience with building maintenance preferred

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Ability to build positive working relationships with employees and leaders at all levels

Experience working in the disability services sector is considered an asset

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team

Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check completed within the past six months
