Work with the latest versions of software, including GoldSim, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC- HMS, Flow-2D/3D
Work on mine site wide water balance and water quality models
Design hydrotechnical components tailings storage facilities for global mining projects
Incorporate climate change resiliency in hydrotechnical design
Contribute to risk assessments, Dam Safety Reviews and risk-informed decision making
Engage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions
Lead less experienced staff through design methodologies
Build client rapport as projects progress from feasibility through to mine closure
Requirements
A degree in civil engineering: a master’s degree is considered an asset
3+ years’ civil design experience related to surface water controls (preferably for mining or related industries)
You must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada
Experience in hydrotechnical designs analyses (e.g., water balance, open channel flow, erosion protection)
A general understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practices
Passion for collaborating with clients and colleagues
Enhanced communication skills, including experience in writing technical reports and project correspondence
Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements
Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in hydrotechnical design and analysis, particularly in water balance and surface water controls for mining projects. Strong ability to engage with clients and lead teams while ensuring compliance with mining regulations and safety standards.
