Mental Status ExamEngage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members as appropriateAct as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as appropriateParticipate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferencesAccept changing work assignments across Homewood Specialized Services as required and directed by supervisor and/or delegateWhat We're Looking ForCurrent registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standingUp to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice preferredExperience working with patients with a substance use disorder an assetCurrent CPR certificationKnowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA)Knowledge of the documentation standards (CNO),



and privacy legislation (PHIPPA)Knowledge of CBT/DBT and CPT is an assetExperience with group facilitation is an assetAbility to effectively manage crisis situations and deal with acutely ill patientsCurrent knowledge and experience of assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders, including prevention of suicide and management of aggressive behaviourPrevious training in boundaries, suicide awareness and/or medication administration is an assetAwareness and acknowledgement of the value of using measurement-based care when supporting patients/clients to help guide clinical decision making; experience an assetAbility to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teamProficient computer skills, and experience working with a number of systems and software applicationsThe starting rate of pay (Step 1) for this position is $36.62 hourly, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
