Senior Instructional Designer – Service Desk Learning
? Location: Vancouver, BC (Open to Remote Candidates Across Canada)
? Contract: 6 Months (Strong Possibility of Extension)
? Work Arrangement: Remote
About the Role
The existing L&D; team are at capacity and need support with several concurrent learning initiatives, which may include:
- Generative AI and emerging technology learning resources
- Digital and interactive eLearning development
- Privacy and information awareness training
- Employee onboarding and workplace learning programs
- Enterprise software and business application training
- Knowledge management and collaboration tools
- Scenario-based and role-specific learning content
- Updating and modernizing existing internal training materials
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging, interactive eLearning courses using Articulate 360
- Create learning materials including simulations, scenario-based learning, branching activities, microlearning, videos, animations, and just-in-time resources
- Develop storyboards, course maps, learning objectives, assessments, facilitator resources, and supporting documentation
- Translate complex business and technology concepts into clear, accessible learning experiences
- Develop and edit instructional videos using Camtasia or comparable video editing tools
- Review and modernize existing learning materials to improve usability,
engagement, and long-term maintainability
- Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning theory throughout the development process
- Conduct learning needs analysis and recommend appropriate delivery methods and learning solutions
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and internal teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Manage multiple learning initiatives and priorities while meeting project timelines
- Support learning initiatives related to emerging technologies, enterprise applications, workplace policies, onboarding, and employee development
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional instructional design and eLearning development experience
- Advanced hands-on experience with Articulate 360, including Storyline and/or Rise
- Experience using Camtasia or equivalent video editing software
- Demonstrated experience developing highly interactive digital learning experiences
- Solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning theory
- Experience conducting needs assessments and developing learning objectives, course maps, storyboards, and assessments.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to independently manage deliverables and timelines
