Support marginalized women in Vancouver as a Peer Services Navigator with the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. Facilitate access to essential services and programs for those facing homelessness.
This full time position engages with women experiencing homelessness or at risk in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Reporting to the Specialized Services Manager, you will collaborate with DEWC staff, applying a feminist and anti-oppression framework to promote integrated services. Your role is essential in assisting women through chaotic environments and prioritizing their needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities: • Facilitate women's access to internal and external services • Collaborate with DEWC team on service integration • Manage records, scheduling,
and problem-solving tasks • Provide assisted referrals to community resources • Work within trauma-informed care approaches
Requirements: • At least 2 years of relevant experience • Knowledge of gender-based violence and homelessness issues • First Aid Certification and NVCI, or willingness to obtain • Strong organizational and prioritization skills • Community resource familiarity in the Downtown Eastside
