Qualifications

- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 3 to less than 5 years in construction
- Work setting: Construction, various locations; relocation costs covered by employer; willing to relocate
- Transportation/travel: Willing to travel
- Personal suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, team player, punctuality
- Eligibility: a permanent resident of Canada or a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit

Responsibilities

- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements




- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Supervise other workers, apprentices, and bench workers
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

- Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Handling heavy loads
- Physically demanding
