The prime focus of the MDR Educator & Quality Lead is to build capacity and to develop and contribute to core and specialty competencies of the MDR staff. The MDR Educator & Quality Lead practices according to the Canadian Association of Medical Device Reprocessing practice standards and bylaws.The MDR Educator & Quality Lead demonstrates competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership, and practice. The MDR Educator & Quality Lead exhibits the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework. This framework is grounded in theories of adult and concept-based learning, practice development,



fundamentals of care and collaborative learning and practice.Hours of WorkMonday - Friday 0700 - 1500 hrsYour QualificationsCompletion of Grade 12 and a Medical Device Reprocessing Certification from an accredited program required.Certified (or eligible for certification) as a Canadian Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CMDRT) required.Minimum 2 years’ experience in operating room instrumentation required.Experience in MDR with sound knowledge of the reprocessing equipment, decontamination, and sterilization process required.Experience as a preceptor/trainer required.Experience in designing, providing adult education an assetDemonstrates sound knowledge CSA Standards and AAMI standards.Proficiency using a computer and with Microsoft word, excel, and power point required.Demonstrated time management, communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills required.Demonstrated leadership, delegation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills involving innovation/creativity in solution development.Proven team building, leadership, and evaluation skills.Competencies in other languages an asset.This is a Healthcare bargaining unit position.
