Salary range (but not limited to)
94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target
12% of base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance)

What you’ll do here

Obtain and analyze underwriting data, perform financial analysis and apply critical thinking on underwriting decisions and client relationship issues.

Analyze financial position of current and new contract clients.

Provide recommendations to management on contract surety bond support to provide to existing and prospective contract clients.

Negotiate specific terms and conditions for issuing Contract Surety bonds to clients.

Monitor the development projects and exposures.





Develop new business through networking/marketing with brokers, clients, contractors, consultants, lawyers and other market participants.

Gain and expand upon industry knowledge to improve underwriting decisions.

Represent Intact at various contractors’ associations and industry-related functions.

What you bring to the table

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance.

Experience – minimum 3 years for the Senior Underwriter and 7 years for the Specialist role in contract surety or commercial lending, and/or experience in a commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage capacity.

Solid understanding of financial statements.

Demonstrated capability for outstanding customer service.

Proven track record for quick, accurate problem resolution.

Solid analytical and research skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Can handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Can work independently and collaborate with co‑workers in a team setting.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products.

No Canadian work experience required; must be eligible to work in Canada.
