This position is for a Control Room Operator based at Royal Bank Plaza in downtown Toronto.
About The Role
You will act as a building systems expert, identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. You will ensure that tenants have a safe and comfortable work environment for Royal Bank Plaza and be responsible for operating and maintaining all building equipment and systems. Your work will uphold all quality standards on a 12‑hour rotating Continental shift, alternating between two weeks of day shift (7:00 am–7:00 pm) and two weeks of night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am). Weekend and statutory holiday coverage will be required if the scheduled shift falls on those days, and overtime may be required.
You build positive working relationships with tenants and team members, sharing expertise and collaborating as a group.
You work with minimal supervision and bring your technical expertise to a high‑performing team.
You are comfortable working with technology and seek innovative ways to enhance processes.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum of 5–10 years of related experience in building operations and maintenance of commercial assets such as data centers and/or Class A+ office buildings.
BES 1&2 or 4th Class Power Engineer certificate.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, identify opportunities,
and develop/implement action plans.
Proficient use of a Building Automation System.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and be responsive to time‑sensitive tasks.
Versatile working hours and ability to respond to emergencies after hours.
Downtown Toronto office experience.
