Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) provides supports for seniors, families, and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, continuing care, financial supports, affordable housing, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) provides essential support for individuals that are not able to make personal or financial decisions. It offers guardianship and trusteeship services, administers estates, and manages benefits. OPGT also oversees capacity assessments, investigates complaints regarding decision-makers, and provides guidance on advance planning and personal directives. Role Responsibilities

Look no further, the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) branch invites you to explore an exciting career opportunity as an Assistant, Trust Administration .

- Administrative assistance in researching information, contacting clients, family members and other stakeholders for information, preparing correspondence and documentation.




- Financial Administration - Reviewing and authorizing client payments within your scope of authority and reconciling invoices.
- Legal Work - Preparing court applications and other legal documents.
- Answering contact center technology phone line to support clients and stakeholders.
- Other Responsibilities – Managing a variety of tasks, including completing benefit applications, creating family trees, and developing and maintaining spreadsheets to collect data and monitor workflow.
- Ensures adherence to established Trust Administration policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma combined with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience providing administrative support for one of the following areas:





- Office administration experience. Legal or financial administration in an estates or trust office and/or Social Services administration would be preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint).
- Experience in supporting a high-volume program area.

Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of:

- One year of experience for one year of education; or
- One year of education for one year of experience

Assets:

- Experience in client-focused program delivery with an emphasis on understanding and meeting the needs of vulnerable clients.
- Experience with contact center technology.

3 temporary positions until March 31, 2027, and 1 temporary position until September 1, 2027.

Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Final candidates will be required to undergo security screening.
