Manage a portfolio of cross-border personal tax clients from intake through filing and build lasting relationships
Handle complex investment income, rental income, and rental properties for cross-border clients
Review and prepare Canadian, US, and cross-border personal tax filings
Advise clients directly on residency determinations, foreign tax credits, and treaty positions
Lead, mentor, and manage a team, setting expectations and supporting technical and professional growth
Create and deliver in-house training sessions throughout the year
Use AI-powered tools to accelerate research, drafting, and review
Monitor workflow and deadlines using cloud-based practice management tools
Refine client service processes as the practice scales
Requirements
CPA designation required; US CPA or progress toward it considered an asset
Strong Canadian personal tax experience and US personal tax experience required
Experience through a few to several busy seasons with an accounting firm
Experience managing or mentoring a team, or transparent readiness to step into that role
Genuine interest in client relationships
Comfort working in a cloud-based, AI-enabled environment
Experience with CaseWare Hybrid Cloud, TaxCycle, and CCH Axcess is an asset
Clear,
proactive communication with clients and colleagues
Trust and estate experience is a nice to have, not a requirement
