Join Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre as an Indigenous Midwife in London, Ontario. You'll support clients in a culturally safe environment focusing on clinical care and health education.
The full time Midwife role emphasizes compassionate care for women across various stages of life, from teens to Elders. Reporting to the Integrated Care Manager, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team. Key duties include promoting health outcomes, providing pre- and post-natal care, and engaging in culturally relevant practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver culturally competent care to women and families • Provide educational support for pre- and post-natal health • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community resources • Maintain accurate health records and reporting • Address social determinants impacting client wellness
Requirements: • Completion of an Indigenous/Aboriginal Midwifery Program • Knowledge of Obstetrical practices and standards • Experience in providing culturally appropriate care • Valid Ontario driver’s license and insurance • Willingness to engage in Indigenous cultural training
