LRO Staffing is partnering with a well-established national membership-based organization to recruit a Bilingual Communications Officer for a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Ottawa. This hybrid role offers an exciting chance for a communications professional who is passionate about creating engaging content, managing digital communications, and supporting a collaborative, mission-driven organization.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality bilingual communications that support the organization's strategic priorities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple communications projects, digital platforms, and stakeholder relationships.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Draft, edit, coordinate, and publish engaging bilingual communications across multiple channels, including newsletters, email campaigns, websites, social media, and event communications
Develop and adapt content for digital and print materials, including presentations, reports, promotional materials, and executive communications
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure communications are clear, consistent, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities and brand standards
Maintain publication schedules and coordinate the timely release of communications products
Upload, format, and maintain website content and member communications platforms
Schedule and monitor social media content using Hootsuite and assist with future content planning
Coordinate translation of communications materials and review translated content for quality and consistency
Administer communications systems, including website content management systems, email marketing platforms, subscriber databases,



and distribution lists
Produce communications materials supporting conferences, events, programs, and organizational initiatives
Design visually engaging communications products using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, including graphics, presentations, infographics, reports, and promotional materials
Maintain branded templates, visual assets, and communications resources
Ensure all communications meet accessibility, quality, and brand standards
Monitor communications analytics and prepare reports to measure engagement and support continuous improvement
Contribute ideas that enhance communications effectiveness and audience engagement
Support communications process improvements and new technology implementations as required

About You
Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience developing, editing, and publishing communications across multiple digital platforms
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French (bilingualism is mandatory)
Experience creating professional communications materials using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
Experience coordinating communications projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines
Experience managing websites, email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or similar), and social media management tools such as Hootsuite




Strong understanding of accessibility standards and best practices for digital communications
Experience interpreting communications analytics and using insights to improve engagement
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small, team-oriented environment
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive
Knowledge of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) is considered an asset
Experience working within a membership-based association, not-for-profit, public sector, or professional services environment is considered an asset

About the Job
Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, regular business hours with occasional evening or weekend work)
Salary: $51,000 - $80,000 annually
