Yale PGC is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio across multiple industries, leading and supporting audit, review, and compilation engagements while delivering high-quality tax compliance work. You will play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the continued success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Compilation engagements and financial statements for clients across a variety of industries
Prepare audit and review engagements, financial statements, and supporting working papers with minimal supervision
Assist and lead larger audit and review engagements within a supervised team setting
Prepare Personal, Corporate, Partnership, and Trust tax returns
Prepare tax compliance and information filings including T4, T5, EHT, HST, and WSIB
Ensure all audit and accounting issues are properly identified and resolved in a timely manner
Maintain a strong understanding of accounting technical standards relevant to financial reporting in Canada
Work directly with clients to coordinate effective completion of engagements, request necessary information, and review accounting transactions
Correspond with CRA on corporate, personal, payroll, and sales tax matters
Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and relevant government agencies
Qualifications
University degree with a specialization in Accounting or Finance
Completion of, or close to completion of, the CPA, CA designation
5+ years of practical experience in a mid-sized public accounting firm
Proficiency with CaseWare, CaseView and Taxprep
Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
Familiarity with CRA correspondence processes and regulatory filings
Excellent organizational, communication, and client-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and meet deadlines
