Your impact
As an Intermediate CAD Technician within our Highways & Roads team, you’ll play a key role in delivering transportation infrastructure projects that improve mobility and enhance communities across Ontario . You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality design deliverables while supporting some of the region’s most impactful infrastructure projects.
At Jacobs, you’ll be part of a team tackling complex roadway and highway design projects. You’ll contribute to the preparation of detailed drawings and models that support planning, design, and construction phases, helping bring vital transportation projects to life.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings/models for highways, roadways, and related infrastructure
Support engineering teams with design development, drafting, and document production
Work with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, Openroads and other relevant design tools
Ensure drawings comply with project standards, client requirements, and industry regulations
Coordinate with Engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues
Assist in maintaining drawing databases and filing systems
Participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency
Here’s what you’ll need
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, or a related field
3+ years of experience in CAD drafting within transportation, highways, or roads projects
Experienced in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation and Openroads. Experience working on Ontario-based transportation projects.
(e.g., MTO standards)
Strong understanding of roadway design standards and drafting conventions
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital project delivery
Exposure to multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects

The base salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $95,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
