George Thomas has partnered with a North American packaging manufacturer who is seeking to add a Plant Financial Controller for their manufacturing facility in the Greater Hamilton (Burlington), ON region

The Controller will be responsible for strengthening financial processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks to support business growth and operational performance. Partnering closely with the leadership team, this individual will provide financial guidance, support strategic planning, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.

The role is onsite.
Salary - $125,000-145,000 + Bonus + Pension + Fringe Benefits
Responsibilities Include

Lead and oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Treasury, and financial reporting.

Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.

Monitor cash flow, company investments, and financial performance to support business objectives.

Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and reduce costs.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, government regulations,



and internal policies

Establish and maintain solid financial controls and reporting systems

Collaborate with external auditors and support audit activities.

Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members through coaching, feedback, and performance management.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting systems, processes, and reporting functions

Role Requirements.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of accounting management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.

Experience with ERP systems

Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
